Two Wolves

Just then Aguíla’s words drifted into my mind. “Little Flower, there will always be war. As long as two-leggeds are at war within themselves, we will always manifest an external war that symbolizes the internal chaos.”
I recalled a story that was spoken many times by Indígenas about a little boy who was speaking with his abuelo and explaining that sometimes he felt there were two wolves fighting within his heart. “One wolf is full of anger and hatred,” he explained. “The other is full of love, forgiveness, and peace. It scares me, Abuelo—it really, really scares me. Please tell me which one will win.” Wise Abuelo responded simply, “The one that you feed.”
