I find it fascinating that the word, Virgin had a different meaning in ancient times. It did not mean being physically untouched. Being Virgin meant 'Belonging to Oneself'.
According to Esther Harding, Jungian Psychoanalst, "Being a virgin referred to a subjective state, a psychological attitude not dependent upon a physiological or external fact. It meant being One- in- Herself."
Wow! Plug this into experiences and places in history where that word is made reference to and paradigms will shift!
This is an example when HIStory and HERstory is not synchronistic BUT it does not have to be antagonistic either.
Just like lightness and darkness, His and Her, masculine and feminine can reside harmonioUSly together.
And so now I ask Are You Virgin?
